Research study: Lean thinking - educational preferences
A study examined business practitioners' preferences for higher education curricula design in general and for what graduates should know about Lean, or waste-reduction efforts and received 45 completed surveys from US companies in the service, manufacturing and government sectors. The study found that the business practitioners most preferred areas of education in lean skills, knowledge and expertise were, in ranked order:
1. Systems planning and thinking (e.g., seeing the business as a value stream).
