The US publisher Axiom celebrated the 2021 winners of its prestigious Business Book Awards, the largest and most respected critical guidepost for business books published around the world, and known by some as the “Oscars” for management books. The 2021 gold medal in the Business Theory category was awarded to Strategy = Execution, written by Dutch management consultant Jacques Pijl, a book that helps executives to successfully translate strategic plans into tangible results. The first edition of the book was published in 2016, became the top-selling management book in the Netherlands, and was named the “CEO’s book of choice” by the Dutch edition of the Financial Times. The English edition of the book, Strategy = Execution: Faster Improvement, Renewal and Innovation in A New Era, was published in 2020. Judges praised the book’s cutting-edge insights, practical applicability, and innovation. The book is based on over four years of research by Dutch management consulting firm Turner, and leverages the insights of more than 300 sources, the analysis of 75 strategy execution cases at companies, and more than 60 interviews with executives.
