Steelcase Inc, a US manufacturer of office furniture, developed a two pronged approach to reduce the level of conflict resulting from new policies. When a new policy was to be considered HR personnel held meetings with shop floor personnel to discuss, get feedback on and encourage ideas for the implementation of the policy.
