Between 1994 and 2004 the company had shut down 33% of its smokestacks and 71% of its wastewater pipes; reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 70%; diverted 175 million pounds of carpet and carpet scrap from the landfill through recycling; and had saved $372 million in costs from waste elimination efforts. ...
