Working conditions – quality of working life programme
First introduced in 1982, the US Postal Service (USPS) Quality of Working Life (QWL) programme was based on the belief that mail handlers wanted to be responsible and effective in their work and a say in problem solving. To meet those needs work conditions had to be restructured.
