In 1997 a 'Best Practice' survey of over 1400 companies across New Zealand was carried out. The questionnaire was based on the 'Likert Scale'. Results indicated that from 1994 through 1997, 59% of manufacturers put a great deal of weight on financial measures for measuring performance and 53% of manufacturers put a great deal of weight on cost, 46% on quality measures and 41% on operational measures such as on-time delivery for measuring performance....
